What are the three main categories of 5G network technology

5G network technology can be divided into three categories: core network, back and forward network, and wireless access network.

1. The core network
Core network key technologies mainly include network function virtualization (NFV), software-defined network (SDN), network slicing and multi-access edge computing (MEC).
2. Forward pass to net
Fronthaul refers to the remote RRU part of the BBU pool, as described in the section. Prequel depends mainly on the wireless link capacity hollow rate and MIMO antenna number, 4 g prequel to link the CPRI (general public radio interface) protocol, but as a result of 5 g wireless rate soared, MIMO antenna number multiplied, CPRI is unable to meet the demand of 5 g era prequel capacity and delay, to that end, standards organizations are active research and develop new prequel technology, including some processing capacity from BBU sinking to RRU unit, to reduce the time delay and prequel capacity, etc.

3. Wireless access network
In order to improve capacity and spectrum efficiency, reduces the time delay, improve efficiency, to meet the key KPI, 5 g 5 g wireless access network includes key technologies include: CRANAN, SDR (software-defined radio), CR (cognitive radio), Small Cells, self-organizing networks, D2D communication, Massive MIMO, millimeter wave, high modulation, and access technology, with full-duplex, carrier aggregation, low latency, and low power consumption, etc.
